Problem

The existing design curriculum for students in Schools of Specialized Excellence lacked engaging and interactive learning experiences tailored to their diverse backgrounds. There was a need for a fresh approach to enhance student engagement, simplify complex concepts, and adapt to digital trends like virtual and augmented reality.

Solution

Balvinder developed a specialized design book and interactive workbooks that incorporated Virtual Reality (VR) lessons using ZapWorks, which simplified complex concepts for students. He conducted on-site research by interacting directly with students and teachers, using feedback to refine the materials. His work included the creation of personalized digital postcards for students, allowing them to engage with storytelling and emotions through augmented reality.

Result

Balvinder contributions led to a significant improvement in student engagement and learning outcomes. His design solutions were adopted in over 7 schools, reaching 7,000+ students. The success of his project was recognized at the governmental level, with his work being presented to the Indian Education Minister. His curriculum continues to evolve, expanding to include advanced courses for 11th and 12th-grade students, highlighting the long-term impact of his research and design efforts.
